Read this thread. Here's my 2¢ - you won't solve this by "better" science. Everyone, and I mean, EVERYONE assumes they are using the "right scientific reasoning" for the conclusions they hit.

What I used to think was a science problem, is probably a communication problem #RDchat https://twitter.com/TamarHaspel/status/1353714995415175169
As communication channels and abilities are amplified, it seems we're losing our ability to actually communicate with one another. I don't simply see it in the diet wars, it's everywhere, in every field.

- Digging pits for one another's words, even if contextually justified
- Refusing to concede a point you find factual, just because it came from the "other side"

- Misrepresenting a person's perspective, rather than allowing them to clarify or give them the benefit of the doubt

- Misconstruing or fabricating motivation for stances you disagree w/
Our scientific data for nutrition is limited, but if you want to fix the diet wars, you need revisit standard human communication practices.

Otherwise, science will [continue] to take on a religious prospect, where everyone thinks theirs is superior and imbues final authority.
