I learned today that groundhog is another name for a woodchuck. Maybe this is common knowledge and I’m announcing to Twitter that I’m an idiot, but I think everybody just needs to take a chill pill and say ”how much wood would a groundhog Chuck”and call it a day.
Speaking of groundhogs, my sister had a boyfriend named Phil and somehow I started calling him "Punxsutawney Phil." Only in my head. And to my husband. And a couple Christmases ago I decided that I really liked him, and I couldn't wait for us to become good pals so...
I could tell him about this "Punxsutawney Phil" thing. And we would laugh our faces off and I would text him every year on Groundhog's Day and it would be so funny. But right after I thought "I'm starting to really like this Phil guy." they broke up.
But then, they got back together & I resurrected the whole Punxsutawney Phil thing (in my head, to my husband). And then COVID happened & I never saw them & at some point during despicable 2020, they broke up again. So...it was like I got a repeat chance, but then lost it again.
This same sister also had a boyfriend named Bubba. Early in their relationship I sang the chorus of "Bubba Shot the Jukebox" to her once on the phone. She sat there in silent disapproval. I stopped singing and heard nothing but dead air...
So I quickly promised I would never sing that to her ever again, and DAMNIT! Why?!?! They dated for a couple years and I could've really had a lot of fun with that (maybe even only in my head and to my husband) but I just let it go.
