So, Avi Yemini is back in the news today. He’s sad, and wants you to feel sorry for him and help him.

Let me tell you a little story about him.

Some 3-4 years ago I attended an Invasion Day rally in the Melbourne CBD. I walked past Avi at one point and he bailed me up.

1/
He shoved a microphone/camera in my face and started with questions. He didn’t know who I was (I wasn’t known at all then) but just aggressively confronted me. It was menacing, rude and to a woman in particular, very intimidating.

I’m sure that was all by design.

2/
The questions made no sense, but as I thought he was a genuine reporter (he told me he was), I tried to answer.

The whole thing was about 30 seconds and from my pov, annoying and threatening. I walked off as soon as I realised how horrible he was. And forgot about it.

3/
A few years later, I’d become known for my work with MFW. I was trolled and doxed relentlessly from that.

Then, this video made by him popped up as part of a targeted campaign to discredit me.

But here’s the thing: it was cut and edited to make my answers look strange.

4/
It looked like what I said was horribly racist, but this was because the answers were changed so they didn’t make sense. He (or someone he knew) did that on purpose to damage me.

That video is still out there and regularly used by my and MFWs haters. It’s a complete lie.

5/
That video he made has been used to incite violence against me. I’ve had to move house and may have to again soon, partly because of that.

His actions aren’t innocent or funny. Real people get hurt.

Yet today, he videos himself looking scared in the back of a divvy van.

6/
Maybe he’s just doing this sad and terrified act for attention, but it’s contemptible.

He deliberately frightens and threatens others, but acts like a scared little boy when he faces consequences.

He’s an abhorrent person and deserves everything he gets, and more.

7/
Anyone who feels sorry for him or funds him is as bad.

Don’t feel sorry for me. He’s hurt many people far more than he’s hurt me, and I’ve got more privilege than many others he hurts. I post my story only as one small example of the harm he does and the views he holds.

8/
My advice is everyone who cares about his abuse should learn his face so you can help protect others from him, if you see him at protests.

Tell people to keep away from him. In particular, protect vulnerable people from him.

This isn’t a joke and he’s a complete arsehole.
