Hi, yes, this is a subtweet: if you are approaching covering the climate crisis with extreme pessimism/fatalism (especially from yt people) you're doing it wrong, you're missing the biggest stories, and, frankly, it's irresponsible.
There are thousands of young people in the country who are leading a climate movement that is driven by hope, compassion and a vision for of a more equitable future. Here's just one story: https://www.texasobserver.org/green-new-deal-chante-davis/
There are Southerners who are organizing in the heart of hurricane territory to build a better, less polluting future: https://www.texasobserver.org/why-the-south-is-organizing-its-own-green-new-deal/
There are faith based communities that are organizing and winning important environmental protections: https://southerlymag.org/2020/11/13/how-faith-leaders-organized-to-win-two-major-environmental-victories-in-louisiana/
These stories aren't impossible to find, but they take more work to report on. If you're covering climate, you should be thinking about which communities have always had to fight for a fair shot and never had the luxury of giving up
