THREAD: Criteria for WR under 6'0

Better be careful when you are drafting WR in this range! Here is the 6 step process to hitting a top 24 season:
Step 1: 1st/2nd Round DC

Since 2003, 117 WR <6'0 were drafted rounds 4-7. Only 3 players hit:

Antonio Brown
Tyreek Hill
Shaun McDonald

Round 3 just 6 of 26:
Kevin Curtis
T. Lockett
Diontae Johnson
Harry Douglas
TY Hilton
Emm. Sanders

Stop looking for Tyreek 2.0 in late rounds
Step 2: Remove college multi-position players. Under no circumstance should you use these running back/WR in our criteria. Refer to your film grinders for them. (This yr, Kadarious Toney)
@JetPackGalileo @FFBaldMan @DeepDiveDynasty @Matty_S2S

Rand. Cobb
Curt. Samuel
Percy Harvin
Data pool: (after removing 2020 draftees - I will do a thread on them later)

34 players and 11 of which were hits. This is admittedly a small sample size. Even more reason that I try my best to dodge this height range unless a player meets my parameters to a T.
Here is our player pool. Players in red hit.
Step 3: BOA Minimum 20

Eliminates 12 players w/ only 1 hit - Steve Smith from USC.

Some other notables we eliminated with BOA 21 or higher:

Mecole Hardman
Parris Campbell
John Ross
Marquise Brown
Anthony Miller

NFL teams were really searching for the next Tyreek Hill 🤣
Step 4: BMI >26.25

Eliminates 5 players including 1 hit - DeSean Jackson. Maybe there is a reason DJax can't stay healthy?

17 WR remain w/ 9 hits. We've eliminated 17 so far w/ only 2 being hits. ALMOST THERE!
Step 5: College DOM Rating >35%

Eliminates 4 players, one being Eddie Royal who had 1 career top 24 season. I won't lose any sleep over not capturing him.

Others we eliminated:
Phillip Dorsett
Sterling Shepard
James Washington

13 players remain with 8 hits.
LAST STEP 6: >26.5% AVG Market Share Receiving YDS

Eliminates just 2 players but significant nonetheless:
Corey Coleman
Devery Henderson

11 WR and 8 have hit = 72.7% hit rate.

Let's check out our hits and busts below!
HITS
Golden Tate
OBJ
Kendall Wright - yuck
Jarvis Landry
Santonio Holmes
Brandin Cooks
Greg Jennings
Lee Evans

BUSTS
Deebo Samuel - Jury still out here though low confidence
Christian Kirk - See above
Andy Isabella - Just a big ole whiff here. Small school product a cause?
Here are the 3 hits we eliminated along the way:
Eddie Royal - 1 career hit - who cares
Desean Jackson - Doesn't meet College Dom or BMI
Steve Smith USC - Solid player would have been nice to include him

CONCLUSION BELOW
Sub 6'0 WR Criteria
Step 1: 1st/ 2nd Round Draft Capital
Step 2: Throw out scat backs turned WR
Step 3: BOA </= 20
Step 4: BMI > 26.25
Step 5: College DOM Rating > 35%
Step 6: AVG MS Rec Yards >26.5%

Hit rate 8/11= 72.7%

Final thing then I'll let you go, we can get saucy here:
I've found that 40 time plays a major part in these sub 6'0 WR. If you take our criteria and remove all players with a 40 time greater than 4.42 we lose the hits of Kendall Wright (who cares) and Jarvis Landry. This leaves us with 7 players which 6 of them hit. Fruit for thought.
Will be posting 2019/2020 rookie profiles within the next day. 2021 rookie profiles once we get updated measurements.

'19/'20 rookies ill be diving in on:
Ruggs
Hardman
P. Campbell
Marquise Brown
Aiyuk
Deebo Samuel
Jalen Reagor
Andy Isabella
KJ Hamler

Hope you enjoyed!
