Here's the thing, Rep. Omar, tomorrow is Holocaust Remembrance Day. It is not the Jewish day to remember, as that is in a few months, rather it is the day for non-Jews to consider the ramifications of politicizing antisemitism. So today, although it is not my job nor my https://twitter.com/IlhanMN/status/1353904198761508867
responsibility to educate you, it is yours... I will do my best to explain to you how you have played a part in the larger antisemitism problem our nation faces.
A) You have used antisemitic tropes such as "it's all about the benjamins" to describe Jewish organizations.
B) You have supported the vehemently antisemitic BDS movement that singles out and unfairly criticizes Israel unlike any other nation on this planet. I won't take away your free speech rights to support BDS, but I will call out its unfair criticism and antisemitic undertones.
C) You continue to suggest American Jewry should stand trial for Israel. If we call out Islamophobia and its racial undertones, we shouldn't suggest Jews are at all responsible for Israel's domestic choices.
D) To top all of this off, you do all of the above without ever calling out antisemitism. You have not spoken out against the desecration of synagogues, and you have not called out the arson that took place at a Hillel House.
Point is, think about all of this tomorrow before you post a tweet about international Holocaust Remembrance Day. Your words mean little and your actions speak volumes.
