When the GOP leadership expresses a willingness to convict Trump and hold no elected official above the law, then we can talk about unity.
When the GOP stops trying to sweep the events of January 6th under the rug and pretend they never happened, then we can talk about unity.
When every GOP lawmaker tells their voters, in no uncertain terms, the demonstrable fact that Joe Biden won a free and fair Presidential election, then we can talk about unity.
When the conservative SCOTUS stops asserting that there's no way to hold a President accountable during OR after his time in office by dismissing cases against Trump as "moot," then we can talk about unity.
When conservative Senators admit they behaved unethically by denying Merrick Garland a SCOTUS seat and then changing the rules to give Barrett one, and help the Democrats undo that unethical behavior by removing even one Trump appointee, then we can talk about unity.
When conservative pundits stop accusing us of talking about punishing all Trump voters when we're specifically talking about punishing white supremacists and domestic terrorists, then we can talk about unity.
When conservatives finally accept that in order to use their favorite social media apps, they have to follow the same fucking Terms of Service as the rest of us, then we can talk about unity.
When conservatives stop fraudulently referring to President Biden's fundamentally centrist platform as a "radical leftist agenda," then we can talk about unity.
When a distressingly large chunk of the conservative base stops accusing every last fucking Democrat of being in a cabal of pedophile cannibal lizard-people, then we can talk about unity.
And really, this all falls under the umbrella of "When conservatives and conservative media STOP FUCKING VILIFYING THE LEFT for every goddamn thing and accept and respect us as fellow human beings, THEN we can talk about unity."
I ain't holding my breath.
