Whose ATP ranking points are from which year? A thread.
Because I was surprised that Benoît Paire is still French no. 2, I calculated the percentage of his points that were from 2019. That was so much fun that I then did it for the entire Top 30.

The mean was 57.39% and the median was 59.60%. These numbers suggest that the average top 30 player earned just under 60% of their current ranking points in 2019.
Most players sat between 45% and 75%. Anything below 50% I'd consider to be a great 2020 season relative to 2019.

The top 10:
Djokovic had the best year out of the top 5 by this measure (albeit mostly pre-pandemic).
I laughed out loud when I got to Andrey.
@ Matteo: you in danger, girl.

11-20 and 21-30:
Most players were more "average" than I expected. RBA in particular I expected to have more 2019 points than he did.

Hopefully someone else finds this interesting! I was going to do this for the whole top 50, but it took a long time and I lost interest. But let me know if you're curious about anyone.
Methodology notes: this uses the ATP website's rankings breakdown. If a player earned the same number of points in a tournament in 2019 and 2020, I counted it towards 2020 (although the website doesn't). I also counted ATP Cup points towards 2020.
