Providing a #WarmWelcome is an essential first step towards belonging. A Warm Welcome:
is being actively acknowledged
feeling welcomed into a place & group
deepens peopleâs sense of belonging to wider community

Participants didn't spontaneously talk about âbelongingâ, but instead spoke about friendship, regular routines, feeling âat homeâ and feeling part of something, as well as feeling responsibility to others â all of which are important jigsaw pieces that make up sense of belonging
Our projects adapted to support people during #COVID19. How did they do it?
Regular check-ins
Creating networks for older people to support one another (peer support)
Moving groups and classes online, loaning devices and supporting people to get online

Digital inclusion & resilience were important before but essential now. Projects adapted quickly to support participants, moving to mix of online, phone & face to face activities.
