1/5 Pablo Serra Palao ( @pserrapalao) & I are excited to present an ongoing research for #GreenCrime2021: “Green Victimology meets Climate Law in Spain”
Our aim is to critically analyse these laws, highlighting the exclusion of non-human animals (NHA) as victims of climate change

3 regions have already laws dealing with CC, hwevr, harmonizing our national response to CC is still at draft law stage
. In add, despite they all present common concerns for the vulnerability of ecosystems and biodiversity, the anthropocentric bias prevails #Greencrime2021

The standards analyzed prioritise certain species, specially those related to human species. Its necessary to have a new perspective in CC laws: combining Holistic&Individual approaches might have a better impact on protecting all climate victims #Greencrime2021 @pserrapalao

4/5 In this sense, Green Victimology(GV) offers a new place for reflection to incorporate NHA as vulnerable(& victims) to CC individually considered. Cos no matter how we categorise them(livestock, companion, wild animals), they r all victims to the effects of CC

5/5 Harms caused by human-induced CC on ecosystems, species & the individuals that comprise them requires a holistic analysis without losing sight of individuals: GV has the potential to reconcile conflicting historical approaches
