Based on this #EO, HHS is expected to open http://HealthCare.gov for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP), from Feb. 15, 2021 – May 15, 2021. This SEP will give Americans that need health care coverage the opportunity to sign up. #GetCovered
Federal agencies are also being tasked with reconsidering rules and policies that have made accessing health care difficult AND will consider actions to strengthen / protect existing access. Steps being taken include...
- Evaluating policies that undermine protections for ppl with pre-existing conditions, including complications related to COVID-19;
- Evaluating demonstrations and waivers under Medicaid and the #ACA that may reduce coverage / undermine the programs, including work requirements;

- Reviewing policies that undermine the Health Insurance Marketplace or other markets for health insurance;
- Evaluating policies that make it more difficult to enroll in Medicaid and the #ACA; and

- Evaluating policies that reduce affordability of coverage or financial assistance, including for dependents.
As part of their reviews, agencies will consider whether to take additional actions to strengthen and protect access to health care.
