Balancing of the courts is badly needed. For far too many years, Republicans and Democrats alike have appointed mostly large-defense-firm lawyers and prosecutors, leaving out lawyers who’ve actually sought justice on behalf of Davids against Goliath. understanding of what it means to represent individuals—the precarious economics, the procedural hurdles, and a general indifference to ensuring justice is done for ordinary people—often results in procedural unfairness and substantive outcomes that are unjust. Diversifying 2/
the judiciary to include far more people who’ve spent their careers fighting for justice for individuals and public-interest causes (think: Judge then Justice Thurgood Marshall) will bring balance and practical perspective to the courts at a time when it is most desperately 3/

Contact your senators (who make judicial-appointment recommendations to President Biden) and ask that they recommend and confirm lawyers who’ve fought for individuals, civil rights, and the public interest. 6/
