Jared Goff movement in very simple terms.
Lions: Paying $43M for Goff with $10M, $25M and $26M team options in 2022, 2023 and 2024, respectively. Immediate cap hit of $28M
Rams: $22M of already paid out real money hits their cap at once, but they pass $43M in guarantees to DET

I've written about cash swaps before, and there aren't many examples of them in the NFL, but $43M for a first and third is about right (if not a low number.) We maybe should be thinking about this trade as:
1st+3rd+Goff=Getting out of Goff's guarantees.
1st=Getting Stafford.
1st+3rd+Goff=Getting out of Goff's guarantees.
1st=Getting Stafford.
If I'm the Texans I'm happy as hell that the cash swap portion of this trade is semi-hidden/speculative because they get to start bids with a floor of 2 1s and a QB for Watson.
Wonder what Lions would have traded Stafford for if there was no Goff in the trade.

Texans:

Sorry I can't trade Watson for less than Stafford so you need to send me two first-round picks and a Super Bowl-caliber QB (I will be referring to Goff as this during negotiations without trying to land him) or three first-rounders if I can pick a QB with one.
