how many deeply racist young women play on great NCAA D1 teams? Many of them. How many of them go on to the national team? Many of them. How many ever have it told to them that they either need to stop being racist or they can sit on the bench? Probably zero or near zero.
Why are there no Black women on the women’s national team? You think that’s a coincidence? You think the lack of Black players on “top” D1 teams is a coincidence?
It’s not. D1 programs are absolutely inhospitable places to be anything but cud, straight, white women. Even white gay women on these teams stay closeted for years after they graduate. Imagine not even having whiteness to get you in the door.
