It wasn’t fashionable as newspaper readers chanted, “Keep the government running!” No one had alluded at it being a business although its conduct was all that patriots had to entertain concern.
The man at the helm was kept under strict supervision although he had no immediate interests to safeguard. The second in command had taken a backseat to enjoy the breeze of exclusion.
The admirer, on his part, recoiled a debt whose burden paralleled that of the national government. Seemingly, the queue was slim enough to permit impatience but long enough to keep the next woman waiting.
Each day brought with it inflated ideas and new problems to old solutions as low ranking legislators worked from paycheck to paycheck. These remained vulnerable to the grand architects—women and men with no regard for public decency!
Thus, masters summoned them to toe lines whose existence wasn’t any far from Disneyland. But then, these are subtleties with no far-reaching repercussions that public officers even exchanged blows in display of might.
Three years ago, the government of Kenya downplayed the relevance of history and art-related courses. The deputy president, in particular, believed that history was only applicable to the extent that it remained 'his story’.
Consequently, average citizens kept the record straight! In 2020, the president rubber-stamped a document which, among other offices, sought to sell 'office of the official historian' to the people. Interestingly, the people have had enough of history!
History remains a major sellout with artists of con banking upon it to corrupt the masses.
Recent developments paint a disappointing image of the giant of the savannah even as her president imagines the stature of a lion. Worrisome is that Kenyans have always endeavored to keep man eaters of the Tsavo caged.
Perhaps, his mention of roaring had everything to do with a man-eat-man society; maybe, he was only demarcating his territory. Strange though it seems, Kenyan government policies have constantly been at feuds with the interests of the jungle.
In any case, median voters instituted a government of the people, not big cats for the people! Similarly, big boys have no business hanging around.
Whereas commercial breaks streamline coverage, the government’s antenna remains awfully fixed. Even then, the government has been on break for so long that it has lost touch with its subjects.
From calling upon unarmed men to defend themselves to open confession of failing to curtail high-end corruption, the idea of a government has no match in the budding of terrible events.
At one point, His Excellency drove his point home (although he’s rarely at home with his own thoughts) that the youth not only pilfer but are constantly stealing on large scale.
It was such an amazing understanding that resulted into some living dead being appointed to crème jobs, just to mock the passionate worker.

But, who cares?
Life’s affair is already overwhelming to the average worker leaving her with little to no time for expensive gossip.
Tax deductions are enough to keep one in a reverie as Kenyans advise, 'pambana na hali yako!’ The government too has been preoccupied with keeping the promise of promising faintheartedly. Seemingly, no one is actively involved in awakening the sleeping giant.
But then, for how long will it last?
