That number is not zero. Statistically, some amount of children will die. Some amount of teachers and other school employees will die. Some amount of parents will die. Some amount of people in the community will die, linked to outbreaks in schools.

Psychologists and psychiatrists think they can diagnose and medicate the problems of the world away. Their endgame is to produce the perfect most well adjusted people in history. Guess what, not only is that a fantasy, but it's a hellscape. Life is nuance.

Hardships build character. Stop robbing children of their experiences. We can not bubblewrap the world. I know that sounds odd given the stance I'm taking here on schools, but I think forcing kids to school to pretend everythings normal, is the psychological equivalent....

of bubble wrapping them. Teaching them empathy and sacrifice for their fellow citizen is the character building opportunity right now. Isn't that the type of people we want in society? Instead of indifferent assholes who can't see past their own immediate desires.

We could set the goal and stomp out this virus at any time, and teach children important life lessons about sacrifice, teamwork, empathy, goal setting, following through, achieving, compassion, innovation, ingenuity and science.
