I'm sure this will be good and not riddled with inaccuracies and poorly researched nonsense.

It's just lazy reporting. Every printed gun I'm aware of has a federally regulated component - and they all require it to function.
Kinda embarrassing to say you're a journalist or researcher and you haven't even read the Liberator's documentation.
Which is it? Are many of these guns made without federally regulated components, or are many of them made with such components? Did nobody proofread this?
Uh yeah totally dude
Not a factual correction but

Uh

Based
This has been discredited multiple times, by multiple agencies. The cops shared pictures of a Polymer80, the genius cops pretended they couldn't tell the difference.

I wonder why The Trace would baselessly include it?
Daily reminder that the US Government takes billions of dollars a year to arm terrorists around the world, but will honestly say "but what if terrorists get guns?" about 3d printed stuff.

They have Stingers antiaircraft missiles that you sold them, morons.
Are we to assume that The Trace thinks that the public domain is a "loophole" as well?
Can't even spell the great sihk's name right lol
Oopsie let me just blow up your entire regime with the public domain of information
The government would never try to start conflict with people, just ask the Jews or the Japanese Americans or the Native Americans or the African Americans or the Uighurs! It's a perceived threat!
Politicians and law enforcement do a whole lot more extremist shit than anyone with a 3D printer ever will, this is amounting to the usual smear-job we expect from The Trace.
