College basketball, more than ever, is going to be a year-to-year sport with the new transfer rules. That can be good or bad. This year has been REALLY tough on St. Joe’s. Players, coaches, and fans. No question. But I do truly think that most of the issues are roster related.
St. Joe’s has lacked creativity in the backcourt at times. Erik Reynolds comes in next year. That will help give them a different look. Could they maybe add a transfer guard or 2021 guard to bolster things? I think so. That changes things.
Lots of issues on the defensive end originate defending down low. Can the staff add two or three guys there? Offered Kacper Klaczek yesterday. I’d imagine they will heavily pursue transfers. If they can add the right pieces there...it changes things.
What’s the point in me typing this? Just to say that I get the frustration about this year’s team. But I don’t think things are broken. This is a crazy year with covid. Some brutal injuries. Next year is a big one. But with the right pieces added I also think a much different one
