Make no mistake. The belief that students of a particular race, cannot or should not, be held to the same standard as their classmates is objectively racist.

Motives aren't irrelevant. Obviously some context omitted. But this is outrageous + toxic in nearly any imaginable frame. https://twitter.com/stbearman/status/1356649178026233857
This isn't the "soft bigotry of low expectations" -- it's an outright conspiracy, by well-intentioned fools, to sabotage the confidence and development of a generation of *black* students.
It's only right to acknowledge the particular challenges of any individual student. They deserve our concern, encouragement, and support.

But people of good conscience can't abide public officials openly trafficking in naked racial essentialism. This can't stand.
