Immigration restriction backers need to stop relying on our political leaders to save us from open borders forces. We need to instead make the case to the American people why restricting immigration is better for the country than not. 1/
We have had decades of record level immigration, primarily from the 3rd World. What has this done for our country? How has it helped? How has it harmed? Why has inequality increased? Why do we still not have affordable universal health care like other developed countries? 2/
People who favor less immigration and control of borders supporting sovereignty and giving more power to citizens are portrayed in a negative light. But taking this position is completely defensible on many grounds. We just need the make the case. 3/
Immigration patriots on the right need to make alliances with the left on health care and the environment to stop current efforts to massively increase U.S. population with little effort to assimilate newcomers, protect water supply & other resources, or alleviate poverty. 4/
Any Californian who has lived here for any length of time can tell you how massively increasing the population of 3rd World immigrants has coincided with a degradation of quality of life in the state. Is there correlation? Seems like it. 5/
