Receipts Matter: A Lesson For Baby ARMYs
I have, admittedly, been out of the loop for a minute. So any fandom drama or goings-on mainly occurred on my periphery.

One thing I was disturbed to learn as I moved toward becoming more active is that a lot of BABY ARMY have no genuine concept of receipts.
This will not do, as any OG ARMY can tell you, proper receipt keeping and seeking is the lifeblood of this fandom.
With that in mind, I wanted to create a thread about the importance of receipts and what qualities separate a good receipt from fake receipts and a lot of hot hair.
The other day, I created a simple infographic that referred to the five ideal qualities you'll want a good receipt to have.

You can find it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1faAWdz5ShHBoZQH2weDcA37C7ghzaSBy/
The five qualities mentioned are:

- Purpose
- Clarity
- Validity
- Timeless
- Shareable
PURPOSE: The reason the receipt exists in the first place. Is it meant to be helpful? Does it succeed in proving a point? Would a neutral party agree that it succeeded in making its point (and that it was a point worth making)?
ARMY receipts were and are the lifeblood of this fandom. We weren't always a global force and in the face of a lot of slander and harmful anti antics, receipts were essential. ARMY often had to fight back against a lot of gaslighting and blatant hypocrisy.
CLARITY: Is the receipt straightforward and easy to understand?

Some people are so shady, they will alter tweets or omit information to validate their point of view. Bad receipts are often unclear and ambiguous.
To demonstrate clarity, here is a K-media chart LYING about BTS's popularity at a certain point in time:
And here is my receipt, calling attention to the lie.
See? Simple and straightforward, and the images are easy to compare.
VALIDITY: This just means that the receipt is true.

Sadly, some people will go out of their way to fake receipts because they forget that we are communicating on the Internet and that Google is a thing that exists.
So rather than looking at someone's popularity or the number of people talking (or subtweeting) about something, wait for the facts surrounding a receipt.
(1) is the source legit? (2) does the source have a personal vendetta and a history of saying shady or untrue things? (3) is there hard evidence? (4) are there witnesses?
The stronger the evidence, the more valid the receipt. And popularity is NOT evidence.
TIMELESS: The best receipts never stop being relevant. They're useful today and they're equally useful a few years later, should a similar issue arise.
SHAREABLE: Lastly, good receipts are not only easy to share but often essential to share, whether answering hypocrisy or pointing out how true or untrue something is. Whether it's screen grabs or links, you'll want receipts that can be spread quickly.
WHY RECEIPTS MATTER

ARMY receipts are an important method of helping you to separate what's real from what isn't. They're crucial for recognizing hypocrisy and determining which harmful accounts have ulterior motives. They allow you to develop a long memory when it comes to BTS.
The prevalence of receipt making and receipt collecting helped ARMY adequately suss out mantis, shills, and other sorts of questionable characters.
It's a process that sharpens your critical thinking skills in addition to allowing you to take stock of everything BTS and ARMY have been through and overcome together.

The best ARMY receipts are empowering, educational, and sometimes hilarious.
CONCLUSION: RECEIPT OR IOU?

Baby ARMY, there's nothing wrong with being new. Every ARMY has been new. But before you allow people to shape your opinions about events you weren't around for...I suggest you go on a receipt-finding quest.
And don't be afraid to ask! Trust me, if there's anything older ARMYs love, is pulling receipts! 😊👍🏾
QUESTION: What is a BTS or ARMY-related receipt that you feel every Baby ARMY should be aware of or have saved?
