1. if you’ve followed me for more than a minute, you know i’m gonna say: “is this the place for me?” is at least as important as, “am i the person for them?”

that doesn’t mean lower your expectations. it means where do you *want* to start an amazing journey?
2. your application *is* the SKELETON ARGUMENT for YOUR OWN AWESOME SELF. that means:

- concise, structured, proof-read, evidenced submissions, addressing the selection criteria.

- be the best presented version of you, but be you.
3. covid drove a train through many of the usual opportunities for legal experience so look to work/life situations where you flexed your advocate muscles (e.g. for a relative/neighbour/fellow student or that time you saved Christmas by persuading your manager to buy in turkeys).
4. provide tangible examples - don’t say you’re a conscientious baker & everyone thinks your cakes are generically moist & delicious. explain the reason your sponge is so fluffy is because you whisked it for 45minutes. by hand. with the antique whisk from your grandmother.
5. "why us?" shouldn't induce🤢if you paid attention to 1.

the internet provides a wealth of information (e.g. news & events, members’ achievements, wellbeing & diversity policies, internal training) that reveals the culture & personality of chambers. research. be interested.
