At the beginning of the pandemic, the UK Government introduced a vital £20 a week increase to #UniversalCredit. But what has that meant for people in reality?
It’s allowed people to reliably afford the essentials, whether that’s putting the heating on, replacing necessary clothing, or buying food.
For many, it’s resulted in improved mental health and the ability to start paying back debts like rent or utility arrears.
And losing the increase would have a devastating impact on millions of people across the country. We can’t let this happen.
Ahead of the #Budget in March, we’re calling on the UK Government to continue to do the right thing. We need to #KeepTheLifeline and extend it to legacy benefits to make sure we’re all protected from destitution > https://bit.ly/3aO9dGj
