I went for another short muddy, misty & sunny walk today....come along 😊
Raindrops hung from every twig & berry - little upside down worlds.
The bluebells are racing skywards and the badgers have a new front door.
There’s a large corner of the field where teasels grow in abundance. I hope the new farmer doesn’t plough this up as he has done with the other wildlife friendly ‘headlands’.
I wonder how old the bracket fungus is on this ancient beech tree? It’s as if the tree has grown a thickened toenail. The patterns & colours are just stunning.
The mists kept swirling across the sodden field where the old oak keeps watch.
But we now have blue skies. And I found a tiny (rather poorly focused) hazel flower. Some of the hazel buds are beginning to unfurl. Spring will arrive.
And finally - a chiff chaff resolutely defying the motorway!
