Groupthink kills innovation and progress. It traps you into an ideology where, under all costs, that ideology must be fixed and preserved, never challenged, never changing, never evolving.
It’s a game of inches, of boiling the frog. It must start with easy to dismiss things like “it’s just a camera angle.” This is easy to accept and the justification is that even small, fictional things cause physical harm. Once you are taught to believe that, censorship blooms.
The only evolution accepted is to more and more authoritarianism, more extremism to preserve the bulwark of the ideology.
This is ultimately self destructive. At this point, there is nothing to do but wait out the cycle.
