The creation of 'sex worker' as an identity category is an obvious obfuscation of the fact that sex workers are actually women responding market incentives against a backdrop of diminishing opportunities
Once you've constructed the 'sex worker' as an identitarian demographic, you can use them as a shield against any criticism of the sex work industry- notice that 'sex work industry' is not even an accepted phrase. 'Sex workers' sounds like a group of independent actors
If you criticise OF for commodifying sexuality, then you're depriving the OF girls of the recognition they've 'earned' for the valuable service of 'emotional labour' they provide- even this defense operates from within a framework of 'deserving'
