This ‘autistics lack empathy’ thing is really bugging me. I don’t think it’s true at all. I think some of us don’t Perform Empathy the way NT’s want to see it.
I laugh when I should cry, get angry when I should be happy, I process emotions different. Just because I look

like I may not be reacting outwardly doesn’t mean I’m not having feelings, sometimes those feelings are ‘this is a ridiculous thing to be worried about’ because it is.
I fail at the girl code because I can’t fake concern over mundane issues, I honestly don’t care, but it’s not

because I lack empathy to see they are upset about it.
I can empathize with people being denied a win, I don’t need to hug a fascist because the election wasn’t faked.
Just something that’s been picking at my brain.
