Nas is my favourite rapper of all time and definitely my GOAT and in my opinion the greatest MC to ever touch the mic, I have listened to every Nas project multiple times; but that being said this will only be solo studio albums and The Lost Tapes (1&2)
#14 - The Lost Tapes 2
Now there are a couple of songs I adore from this 2019 release, but that being said it has Nasâ worst song ever, âJarreau Of Rapâ.
That being said, a redeeming quality is âVernon Familyâ. One of my favourite Nas songs of recent.

#13 - Nastradamus
The story behind Nasâ 3rd release is extremely interesting and I recommend you read into it, but that being said it was an extremely disappointing release, but not without silver linings.
Nasâ sampling was brilliant, trying something different.

#12 - Untitled
Everything from this point on is good music so it will be hard to rank the following projects, Untitled just misses something, it has some great tracks and some very uninspiring ones. Just a rollercoaster throughout the project.

#11 - Hip Hop Is Dead
A solid release, no stand out tracks for a good or bad reason, it is a consistently good project. Some amazing features including the first time Hov and Nas went side to side since their feud in the early 2000s.

#10 - NASIR
An extremely overhated project in my opinion, brilliant production provided by Kanye and a relatively good performance from Nas. My main point of criticism is the Andre 3K verse being taken off of âCops Shot The Kidâ, otherwise another solid release, very short tho.

#9 - I Am...
One of the most squeaky clean Nas releases but I did not enjoy the commercial approach. Released in 1999 along with 2 other Nas projects; Nastradamus released later in November and also The Lost Tapes before being revisited and remastered in 2002.

#8 - Godâs Son
The first full project I ever heard. Another amazing release from Nas; containing some of his most heartfelt work, specifically âDanceâ reflecting on his motherâs passing 3 years earlier in 1999.

#7 - Streetâs Disciples
Nasâ longest project spanning 1 hour and 27 minutes. I never see SD mentioned other then mentioning Nasâ ad-lib of the album title during the early 2000s.
SD has some of Nasâ best work, specially âA Message To The Fedsâ.

#6 - Life Is Good
The first solo album back after Nasâ short hiatus towards the end of the 2000s. He did not disappoint. Delivering a project that embodies his true versatility; working with normal collaborators but also RnB and Soul singers such as Amy Winehouse and Miguel.

#5 - Kingâs Disease
Now take this with a pinch of salt as I am still very much riding the KD hype; it is such a complete piece of art and arguably perfect; Hit-Boy and Nas went 13/13 on this cut, Nas showing love and pairing with some of the new talent hip hop has to offer.

#4 - Stillmatic
The final 4 are all in my opinion perfect works of art, Nas filled Stillmatic with some of his best bars and lyrical performances. Hard not to address the standout âEtherâ diss track aimed at Jay Z. Which is still considered as one of the best diss track in rap

#3 - The Lost Tapes
My favourite song of all time features on this cut; âPurpleâ. Not to mention other tracks such as âDoo Ragsâ, to think Nas throwaways from his 90s dominance could make a tape better then most other albums that year is mind boggling.

#2 - It Was Written
This and Illmatic will forever go down as the best back to back rap album run of all time, both absolutely perfect and some of the best work that has ever come out of the genre. Both projects are âclassicsâ and so key to the âGolden Eraâ of rap.

#1 - Illmatic
No surprise here; not only is it Nasâ best album, but the best rap album of all time. Nasâ debut album achieved the greatest feat and I spoke more on this in my âIllmatic Deconstructionâ which I will link if you want to read.
Top 10 album across all genres.

Thank you for reading, Nas is a very key part of my life, with my listening starting when I was just 8 and still listening a decade later.
Nas is a teacher, a leader, an artist and a genius of the rap genre.
Thanks again, likes and RTs appreciated
