Longism isn’t Socialism. It isn’t Communism. It isn’t Capitalism. It’s Distributism: The rarely discussed original third position. It asserts we “Share the Wealth” by spreading the ownership & means of production as widely as possible among the general populace. Every Man a King!
Longism creates a strong government ruled by the people that preserves the Amerikaner pioneer spirit of independence. It rejects both the tyranny of the marketplace and of the state. There’s a ceiling and floor on wealth, with no single business or individual creating a monopoly.
It promotes a society of artisans and culture. This is influenced by an emphasis on small business, promotion of local community, and favoring of small production over capitalistic mass production. It ensures local ownership of farms, factories, restaurants, grocery stores, etc
The rejection of both plutocracy & bureaucracy in favor of the cultivation of strong families, communities, & collective self-reliance is the best way to achieve the ideal of the unification of capital, ownership, & production. And that’s what The Kingfish figured out. End thread
