I saw something key in the Life of a man called Naaman in the Bible. And I want us Young men to see how great it is to be good to everyone in our household, especially our Wives.

SHALL WE CALL IT A THREAD THEN!? 😊👌🏾
First of all, Naaman is NOT from any tribe in Israel. So, he is not bound by serving YAHWEY. The ONLY good thing I noticed in his life as I read is what I'll advice us to focus on.

Asides this, there's a great reason why his story was written down in 2 Kings 5 for us to see.
Mr. Naaman was from a tribe called Aram. These guys were the World Power of their days. They were so good in winning wars to the extent that they ruled virtually all the Middle East for a time, conquering and pillaging.

They invented a war instrument called "The Battering Ram".
My man Naaman, was not just a nobody in might Aram. Bros was a Field Marshal, the highest Military man in the land, only answerable to the King of Aram.

In fact, we were told that the King himself used to famz my guy. Cos bros na proper G!

You know as e dey go na!? 😃
But you know as they say that 'wahala be like bicycle, e no dey long to start.' That's how Naaman suddenly caught Leprosy o! Chai!🙆‍♂️

Bruh! What kind of thing is this!? As at the time, Leprosy was like contracting COVID-19 of this time. Cos leprosy was not treatable then. 🤦‍♂️
As the Army Commandant, I'm sure NOT many people knew he had Leprosy. Only those in his household did, and they all kept it secret.

Naaman was an extremely rich man, imagine how big his household was; Lots of servants, soldiers and all. They loved him and it got me wondering.
One day, Naaman sent out his troops on a Mission to raid some villages in Israel, and they came back successful.

While raiding, they saw a very lovely small girl, and they brought her home to Naaman's wife so she could be a maid for her.

This is where it gets interesting.
After a few months, the Israelite girl that her village was raided and carried off to Aram to be maid noticed that the big man of the house barely went out. And whenever he does, he was wrapped from head to toe.

She asked her mistress what's going on, and she gave her an answer.
And not so long, the girl came to her mistress and gave an unsolicited advice saying, "I wish my master would go to see the prophet in Samaria. He would heal him of his leprosy."

Hol up! Hol up!
A slave is giving advice to a General's wife in their house!?
What Audacity! 😂👏
As a good student of Ancient History, slaves are not supposed to speak out of turn to their owners. If done, it is a punishable offense by severe lashing.

But I guess this is not so in Naaman's house. Him and his wife were so free that anybody could speak with them freely.
And you know what?
The Mistress listened and suggested same to his husband and he listened. He went to speak with the King about the suggestion, and he was given a go ahead to go to this Prophet in Samaria.

In fact, King gave Naaman an Introduction Letter to the King of Israel.
To cut the long story short, Naaman met with King of Israel, he was redirected to meet Prophet Elisha in another part of town.

As he waited at Elisha's house door, the Prophet didn't allow him come in. He sent a messenger to tell him to go wash in River Jordan and be clean.
My Mans Naaman got angry!
As per big man, he expected Prophet Elisha to give him a VIP welcome and start doing drama over the leprosy so that he could be healed. But he didn't even come out to see him. He just asked him to go wash in Jordan and be clean.
Baba with his superiority complex started comparing all the Rivers in Damascus, his home country, with all Rivers in Israel and said he wouldn't dare go to that Jordan River to wash.

He turned away and went in rage.
His servants ran after him as he went in rage and said something shocking:
They said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?”

Servants called him "My father?" 😳😳
Do you even understand what this means?
It showed deep closeness that this Aramean Man had with those who were his servants. Even in a rage, they could speak to him to calm him.

He was not just a master to them, he treated them like a father. And that's what they called him.
After pleading with him, he agreed with them, turned back, went into Jordan and washed seven times as instructed by the Man of God.

It was said that when he came out of the River Jordan the seventh time, his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
The drama that happened after he went back to Elisha is not my focus today.

I just want you to look closely at this man, how he ran into Life's troubles, and how his household pushed him to God who helped him, cos he's been good to all of them.

His wife, maid and servants.
As Young men, we must understand that our immediate household are going to be our last line of defense, whether we admit or not. When sickness comes, those who bear the brunt of it most are your wife and those living with you.

You must try your best and treat them well always.
To end this thread, I want to quote Apostle Paul's advice on this matter:

"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith."

(Galatians 6:10)
