Faster ways of vaccinating our communites: thread
As we approach completing the top 4 categories for vacciations the hope is that the vaccine supply will increase, but the numbers in the categories will be larger. In addition, in a few weeks time, 2nd doses will be due. 1/15

So far people have been mostly vaccinated in-
Field hospitals-come-mass vaccination centres
in-doors in GP Surgeries
People who are housebound visited by community teams, often district nurses

Field hospitals turned Mass vaccination centres are often located in more urban areas, so not a convenient option for everyone. Just look at the area the one in Bangor (dotted red) covers: 3/15
Indoors brings its own challenges when trying to vaccinate loads of people. Social distancing, maintaining adequate ventilation, and so on.

So, how can we get more numbers through for a vaccine in a rural area, thatâs both convenient and safer for both those to be vaccinated and vaccinators?

But the weather isnât always kind in Wales. Sometimes you need to go inside, into a large space, like they did in Porthmadog this week- into the local leisure centre: 10/15
You get the local bobbies on board: 11/15
You get a local community volunteer group on the job: 12/15
The local Mountain rescue team @AberglaslynMRT are on hand: 13/15
And you get the job done: 14/15
We need all options available to community teams to use and mould as we see fit, with our community teams on board to support us and to make is BOTH safer and convenient for everyone.
Doing it for the people, by the people is how I see us getting the job done fast and well. -END
