A spot of boring ARG work: A thread on why the Editor Wilbur ARG has yet to have been, and, will most likely never be solved.
Hello everyone! I'm inky, and today marks the 2-year anniversary of my being in this community. As far as I know, I'm one of the few original solvers that are hanging around, so I thought I'd share with you why we still haven't solved it.
For the few of you who haven't heard of it, the Editor Wilbur ARG was a puzzle hosted by Wilbur Soot on JackSucksAtLife's channel back in late 2018. We have some parts of it figured out, and here's what they are.
There are two parts to an ARG. The codes, and the storyline. We've had every clue solved for over a year now, and Will has confirmed himself on multiple occasions. (in the videos themselves and on heyitsjoe's podcast) So, all we need to do is figure out the story.
And that's where the issue arises. We've had hundreds of theories over the months, but we'll never know the answer. Wilbur confirmed he made it too difficult, but how would we even know if we got the correct answer?
There's no way to submit an answer or to know if it's correct. So that leads us to today. Everyone has their own little version of the story, but at the end of the day, we're just theorizing with no end in sight. Waiting for it to end, with a bow on top.
