Rest is a requirement, not a reward.
Too often I find myself setting completely unnecessary goals for myself.

“I can eat after I ____”
“I can lay down once I finish ___”

It’s great to be focused & get things done but when my body is sending me a message, I have to listen to it.
This absolutely stems from me growing up & immediately having to stop looking like I was having a good time when a parent came home, time to clean or study or do something for the house. Otherwise, I was given something to do.
I’m absolutely allowed to stop what I’m doing and take care of myself whether that be eating, taking a nap, going for a walk, or just stopping work to have a good time.

I’m deserving of that balance.
Rest is productive.
