Most creators have a hard time transitioning from "free product" brand deals to PAID collaborations.

Here are 3 simple ways to do it. 🧵
Most creators think that when a brand reaches out offering free product in exchange for a post...it's because they don't have a budget.

The truth is that they often DO, you just need to understand how to talk to them in order to unlock it.
🕵️ Be a detective

It's YOUR JOB to figure out the brand's goal.
Usually, it's one of 3 things:
-Brand Awareness (by tapping into your organic distribution)
-Conversions/Sales (by encouraging a consumer action)
-Content Generation (by repurposing your content and for paid media)
So, before you balk at their offer for free product:
- THANK THEM
- Reiterate your excitement about a collaboration
- Ask what "success" would look like to them.

NOW you can start crafting your COUNTER proposal.
©️ Paid media rights as an upsell

Ask if they've ever used influencer content for paid ads. No?

Well great news, you're happy to partner with them and grant 3 months paid usage on digital/social for $1,500!

Heck, you'll even cut the 30-sec ad for them from your YT footage.
PROTIP

Brands almost never send briefs with free product offers.

In your counter-proposal, mention that you'd love for them to send 3-4 key talking points + a main call to action (CTA) so that your content will be MUCH more valuable to them to repurpose.
👻 Offer to make exclusive content for *their* social media

1 - Check how often they post and the quality
2 - Propose that you'll create 5 to 10 photos/vid per month for $ X

Use your platform as your portfolio for credibility!
⚠️ Remember!

Your goal should not be to get paid once and move on.

Aim to forge an ongoing relationship where the brand sees you as a valuable *partner.*

Predictability of revenue is the name of the game vs always hustling for that next deal!
