FC Dallas and Bayern Munich's strong partnership has once again provided useful for both sides, Justin Che ('03) 🇺🇸 has just joined Bayern Munich on loan with an option to buy after impressing during a trial. Here I'll be taking an in-depth look at the 17-year-old.

**THREAD**
Che played 16 games for the FC Dallas affiliate, North Texas in the USL League 1 during the 2020 season. Che plays both CB and RB with CB being his more natural position. Here is a look at some of his stats from the 2020 season.

Statistical overview 👇
Che's positioning and awareness are already very good. He has good defensive mechanics, gets low, explosive, and quick off the step. He reads the game and covers depth and wings very well. Has natural defensive instincts, with the ability to anticipate and break up play quickly.
Not to mention at 6'1, 165 lbs he is ridiculously strong and athletic for his age. He has very quick recovery pace leading to some impressive recovery tackles. He closes space very quickly putting the attacker under pressure, where he then hounds the player, forcing them back
He likes to stay very tight to his marker which can sometimes lead him to get turned easily or force him to commit a foul. He can tend to stab his leg in to tackle instead of staying in front and waiting for the right moment to step in and tackle.
When clearly the ball Che can tend to be a little rash, tries to lash it clear, and miskicks the ball putting his team under more pressure. He is very strong in the air with an incredible leap but can sometimes jump a little early leading to him getting under the ball.
Tweaks to his defensive techniques should be a focus for him in Germany. He can get beat easily one vs one as he sometimes positions his body the wrong way when facing up the attacker, this makes it easy for the attackers as his body shape makes him slow on the turn.
Che is very confident on the ball, perfectly opens his hips when receiving the ball. Takes positive touches into open space, allowing him to move the ball quickly. He is comfortable using both feet but definitely favors his right when passing.
He takes space very well off the dribble, using his long strides to advance the ball. He keeps the ball moving fast, aware of where he wants to go before he receives the ball then uses quick touches and firm passes to keep the ball ticking.
He breaks the lines very well with driven passes into the midfielders and forwards. Has the ability to spray accurate long-range passes, often playing diagonal balls to spring the attack as well as trying to find forwards running in behind the defense
Che is expected to join Bayern's U19 set up where Martin Demichelis is currently the head coach. A perfect teacher for Che who has raw athleticism and talent. It will be interesting to see if he impresses Demichelis and Bayern enough to earn a permanent transfer.
With 1428 professional minutes before his 17th birthday, Che is another amazing talent courtesy of the FC Dallas academy. Following in the footsteps of Chris Richards, Che now has the opportunity to develop his game at one of the best academies in the world.
Thank you for reading, really amazing to see the amount of young American players being touted by some of the best clubs in Europe. It will be interesting to see how this golden generation of talent develops over the next few years.

Stay tuned for more very soon!!
