If police defect in great numbers in 2021 to join #CivilDisobedienceMovementMyanmar :
1. The force of only 85,000 (1 officer per 600 citizens), which is 50% of budgeted capacity and has struggled to recruit,
Will be further depleted and weakened.

2. If senior officers start to break ranks to follow the elected government (already formed under the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw), then units would risk confrontation with the army. But could also lead a vanguard of defections within the army.
Either way, for now these brave officers provide a huge moral boost to the #CivilDisobedienceMovementMyanmar and all protestors who have been chanting "Pyithu Ye" (People's Police) for the past 3 days, while offering them water bottles and snacks.
