The asteroid (or dwarf planet) Ceres.

Let’s talk about her.
1. The story: in Greek mythology, Demeter is the equivalent to Ceres. Demeter was Persephone’s mother. The two were tight, thick as thieves honestly. They never wanted to be apart from one another. To the point that Persephone would actually curve men and gods who wanted to be—
With her. But one day, Persephone was just waltzing through a meadow all on her lonesome, no momma in sight. And she was drawn to and ultimately tricked by some flowers. When she went to stick her nose in the flowers, the ground beneath her split in half and out came Hades to—
Kidnap her and take her to his domain— the underworld. Like any normal mother when they realize their daughter is missing, Demeter looked high and low for Persephone. She had no idea where she was or who took her and grief began to consume her. She literally couldn’t function—
Now Demeter had a job. She was the provider for the mortals, she gifted them with the harvest and nourishment. But when her daughter went missing, she began to let her duties slip. Zeus had to intervene before her neglect killed all of the mortals.—
I didn’t mention, Zeus actually set Persephone up to be taken by Hades. They made a deal and Zeus fucked his sister over by taking her daughter. So once the earth started to die, Zeus was like “oh shit this is serious, I better fix what I broke.”—
And he sent Hermes to the underworld to bring Persephone back to Olympus. However, at this point Persephone was in love with her kidnapper (Stockholm syndrome?) and was conflicted about what she wanted in life. Ultimately, she decided to split her time between her mother and—
Her husband. Spend 6 months in Olympus and the other 6 in the underworld. It’s said that during the months Persephone is in the underworld, the earth dies a little bit, reminiscent of the pain of Demeter during that time her daughter is away. And when Persephone returns,—
There’s a rebirth and renewal of beauty and hope. New life for the earth.
2. Ceres in Astrology.

•personally, I think of Ceres as the moon, but make it deeper. She’s all about learning how to nurture on a deeper level.

•her placement can also help you understand your family dynamics outside of just your emotional experience of them.
•Ceres in the signs can point to how you were raised, the kind of nurturing you received, etc

•Ceres in the houses can show more of how you give and express your nurturing side. This can also show where you might find your specific brand of self-care.
3. Very basic Ceres through the signs. (Family dynamics etc)

Aries: loud and dramatic and powerful dynamic. Obvious power struggles. Emotional chaos, but fierce loyalty.

Taurus: beautiful, hardworking. You were likely given way too much responsibility that was not always age—
Appropriate, bc you had to fill in for what other members of the family lacked. Lots of material comforts.

Gemini: unpredictable, communicative, one extreme or the other. Family members were gone sometimes and then the house was full of party guests other times.
Cancer: deep and complicated. Sometimes the dynamic between parent/child could be skewed. Parents needed as much nurturing and support from children as they needed from parents.

Leo: loud, active, passionate. Dominant and authoritative parents. Fun-loving, but rules were not to—
Be broken.

Virgo: hardworking, dedicated, very connected. Sometimes it was a little unbalanced between love and discipline, but usually it was a decent mix.

Libra: conflicted, tense, disharmony. Parents were likely not very good at seeing eye to eye. You may have had to be—
The mediator or the one expected to harmonize the family.

Scorpio: intense, passionate, powerful. Loving and very protective, but lots of deep emotional and psychological chaos/drama in the family.

Sagittarius: you probably really concerned your mother. She likely used guilt—
Trips to keep you home so she could keep you safe. Because she worried about your rambunctious nature. Chaotic, reckless, but fun family dynamic. But that’s bc you made your own chaotic fun. Lol

Capricorn: some anger and resentment, maybe dark family secrets. Emotionally—
Distant, not a ton of nurturing in this family. Possibly strict and unforgiving household. You likely had to take care of and in some cases parent yourself.

Aquarius: maybe a little bit unpredictable and unstable. You may have moved a lot, or had to learn to get used to—
Chaotic uprooting and change. A weird mix of distant and on your ass, and you never knew what to expect.

Pisces: possibly relationship drama and turmoil between parents that you witnessed more than a child should. It was one extreme or the other. Things were beautiful or ugly.
4. Very basic Ceres through the houses. (How you express and receive nurturing)
