Sebastian Vettel getting the love and respect he deserves, a thread ✨
Daniel: “I like Seb, I like Seb. I respect him a lot as a rival and I think he’s a good person.”
Max: “He’s very nice. And he’s pretty down to earth.”
Daniel: “Yeah, probably the most out of everyone.”

I love this one because they’re being sincere, not talking for the cameras.
Lewis: “I’ve known him as a human being and my respect to him is higher than probably anyone’s here in the sport in terms of the human he is and the man that he is and for what he stands for and represents.”

Seb’s stance on kneeling ceremony made Lewis respect him even more imo.
Had to include this tiny moment cause their admiration and respect for each other seems even more meaningful to me remembering Michael was seen as this calculating, cold man by some people yet he always showed a soft spot for Seb. Seb grew up literally before Michael’s eyes.🥲
This moment with Seb, Mick and Arrivabene is one of the most lovely things I’ve ever seen. Sebastian’s affection, respect and connection towards these two is so heartfelt, it’s clear as day. And you can easily see these feelings are reciprocated by them.🥰
This video is the answer of “They are so different, how are they so close friends?” question imo. Kimi, even though he seems like a cold person, was the only one to greet Seb properly in a big event. And that moment will stay in Seb’s heart forever, knowing how emotional he is.
Sainz: “You can see him always smiling on the paddock, always getting to know the names of everyone. He always has a moment to have a conversation with you, always a question about yourself, about your family, about whatever and you don’t see that often on the paddock.”
I thought about including this moment of Dan Ticktum or not since he’s a... Let’s say controversial character but he was being the voice of all the Seb fans so...😬👀

“I love that bloke just for the record, I think he’s brilliant and I’m fed up with all the shit he’s getting.”
2008 Monza GP 🥲

“Kid’s gotta change his attitude with the media. He’s happy, he’s friendly, he answers your questions, he shakes hands with the soundman, he shakes hands with the cameraman and the interviewer and thanks you for the interview. He’ll give GP drivers a bad name.”
I mean even Princess Charlene was a Seb fan (she’s most probably a Charles fan now but that’s irrelevant cause how could she not be 😬). She has known Seb for years and I find it pretty adorable how she has supported him all this time just like us.🥰
Horner: “Anybody has any doubt over Sebastian Vettel not being able to go wheel to wheel with people put absolutely a light on that there...”

Say whatever you want about Christian Horner but how he trusted in Seb when he was at such a young age always impresses me.
Lewis: “Just to see him finally have that win, even though I didn’t win the race and of course I would love to have won the race, it felt really good cause like ‘finally something good has come to someone who is actually a decent person’.”
Eddie Jordan: “I think he’s a breath of fresh air, he’s a fantastic asset to this sport. This guy is very very well liked. He would make a fabulous world champion. He’s very personable and he’s a really delightful boy to work with.”
Steve Jones: “You’re a fascinating man Sebastian Vettel, you’re not your normal Formula 1 driver. You’re intelligent...”

Seb: “So all the others are not intelligent then?”

Steve: “Some are.👀 You’re intelligent, you’re funny, you’re a strategist.”
Lewis: “One side of it I was happy that Seb had such a good start. It’s good to see him doing well cause it was such a difficult year but on the other side, I’m like ‘damn I can’t get past this guy’. But it was nice to have that battle with another champion who I highly respect.”
“Who is the best driver that’s ever raced with you?”

Christian Horner: “Sebastian Vettel. He produced fantastic performances. When he got into a position at the front of a race, his ability to control GP was phenomenal. He just got better and better each year with the team.”
Peter Windsor:“Talking to Alastair the photographer, he made the point that ‘Yeah quite often I’ve got pictures of Sebastian and his helmet position is completely different from everybody else on the circuit. It’s as if he’s looking a corner ahead most of the time.’”

Awareness✨
The thing Charles always brought up when asked about what impressed him the most about Seb, was the way he worked on every tiny detail with his engineers.

Horner exemplifies it by saying Mark’s post race debriefs would take fifteen minutes while Seb’s would take two hours.😅😬
Horner: “Yeah for sure we made a few little tweaks with the car but nothing radical, a tidy up in a few areas. I think Sebastian just selected another gear cause from that point onwards, he was in an unbelievable form.”

Nine consecutive race wins, just mind-blowing really.🤭
Lewis: “Seb has had the toughest year I would say probably, arguably perhaps in his career and... I just thought that he was driving so well.”

It’s touching how Lewis took time to praise Seb’s performance on the day he made history and Seb insisted it was Lewis’ day, not his.🥲
Sebastian: “I’m not always that nice.”
Ted Kravitz: “In life or on the track?”
Seb: “Both.”
Ted: “I can’t imagine you in life as a real ...”

Ted Kravitz always seemed like the kindest reporter towards Seb to me, even when (ESPECIALLY when) Sebastian was portrayed as the villain.
