Ok think about this for a second. In my country the average monthly pay is around 350 dollars (converted so you don't have to). Bills can be as high as 220 dollars. An average YA paperback costs AT LEAST 12 dollars if it's in English and that's if it's even available. https://twitter.com/authrcatlabadie/status/1359436030080913411
We usually have to wait years for the most popular releases to even arrive and they'd sooner translate them than get the originals. Libraries, the ones that still exist (since most were closed down before I even got to high school), mostly have research books/encyclopedias.
The used/old books from street sellers are classics and the like, no YA, no fantasy, no sci fi except in extremely extremely EXTREMELY rare cases.
Lgbt books? What are those? We don't know them. I will say that recently a bookstore got Heartstopper but that's really it???

But let's say ok, we still have bookstores, we can manage to get YA books even if a lot later. Where do you fit in eating? Other necessities that aren't bills? God forbid you like to read more than one book a month.

Not everyone is as lucky as me. I could still buy 6 proper cooked meals for the price of ONE YA paperback just because it's in English. So no, this definitely isn't catered to each country because then books wouldn't be that expensive.

There are free ebooks on Kindle, I will give you that. But it's not very nice when it's mostly short books that have cliffhanger endings and 15 more books after the free one (speaking for genres I like here).

I'm also aware of sites like the bookdepository which does ship to me and I'm so happy they have free shipping and generally lower prices than local bookstores and a much larger variety. I'm not at the end of the world but it still takes books up to 2 months to arrive.
What's someone in a similar situation supposed to do? I have enough books on hand that I can wait 2 months but is someone else just supposed to give up reading?

Reading should be accessible to everyone, that's the whole point, I already talked too much.
This was not the proper way to promote your books, btw, you could've been nice.
