A wise piece from @KSPrior worth your time. 5 things stood out for me:
- her honesty about our failures
- her call to trust the Groom more than its leaders
- He doesn't let go of the bride, neither should we
- He loves using humble leaders
- her lovely pen https://religionnews.com/2021/02/09/still-baptist-and-evangelical/

To reflect further on a few of these:
- We as Christians should be the first to be HONEST about our failures. It's in the DNA of our gospel ("I'm a sinner").
- We should be the LEAST SURPRISED when leaders or members fail. It's in the DNA of our gospel ("Jesus alone is sinless.")

- We should be the LEAST SURPRISED when leaders or members fail. It's in the DNA of our gospel ("Jesus alone is sinless.")
- We as Christians should be the most HOPEFUL even when failure surrounds us. Again, gospel DNA ("faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen").
My prayer is, Lord, help me and my church to be both honest (not self-righteous or proud) and hopeful (not cynical or faithless).
