i get what hori is doing but there still feels like some kind of disconnect, writing-wise, with how he wrote endeavor in the beginning of the series compared to him trying to explain his actions now
like obv yes he’s trying to say touya dying made endeavor obsessed with training Shouto/surpassing AM but I still feel like mmmm ok, but
here you are in these flashbacks specifically showing that he tried to tell touya to move on, to not focus on all might, etc, all these things that eventually had touya k*lling himself anyway later, but that self-awareness you had with him/weaker quirks before -
totally disappeared after when it came to ur other kids

I don’t think the initial introduction of endeavor being this huge asshole abuser and horrible father to shouto especially would have necessarily been THAT different, cause obv this touya reveal was planned and obv it ties into shouto’s arc/bonding with Deku,
But I feel like Hori may have made endeavor not QUITE the asshole he was in the very beginning
anyway, I’m not one of those “endeavor did nothing wrong!!” ppl and I’m glad even in-story he’s not having endeavor be forgiven, but we’ll just see how he continues this todo fam drama I guess
also crying at the bkdks doing PSA’s and consoling each other since the Valentine’s chapter didnt have them asdfghh everyone relax they’ll show up eventually
