The most unfortunate part of this devastating story is that Owar Opiews eldest brother; Medi Opiew is currently being held in the Blue Earth County (Mankato MN) jail until March on a probation violation FOR missing a weekly UA (urinalysis) .... the gag is..
His PO never issued the warrant for his arrest 🤔 Any-who Medi had to hear of the passing of his little brother Owar from a jail cell but wait it gets worse...
A motion was requested for Medi Opiew temporary release so he would be able to attend his brothers funeral service in MN.....Y’all
The judge denied the request!! There was no reason given as to why the motion was denied. MN Statue 244.07 states that with consistent PUBLIC INTEREST that the commissioner can grant any inmate up to 5 days to handle family needs...
Is the death of a brother under qualified for a family emergency? This decision speaks to how the #SouthSudanese community is treated in this city smh. So this is what I need from everyone..
