Latest stats: 6 in 10 COVID deaths were disabled people .

Nearly a year of disabled people facing the highest risk, without appropriate support. We can become almost numb to the stats. But every one of these represents a life needlessly lost. [THREAD]

The idea that an underlying condition makes a death from COVID any less tragic, or any more justified is regularly implied. But think about it. It's not. It's a life lost. A person who was loved, and living their life - cut short.

More must be done. #WontBeForgotten
We're seeing support fall away. Disabled people isolated and shielding since March last year not priortised for vaccines.

The Government can and must do more. I don't know how this isn't seen with more outrage by more people. But we will keep campaigning. We #WontBeForgotten.
We @scope demand an emergency support package for disabled people from government.

To protect health.
To protect finances.
To support families with disabled children.

We won't stop being appalled by these figures. We won't stop campaigning. We deserve better. #WontBeForgotten.
