ppl who simply refuse to believe facts that don't fit their narrative. It's the same as the attitude to the poor & working poor 'I don't believe it's that bad'. The same level of thinking that leads to people thinking the 2012 Olympics were some kind of enlightenment high point

If you really think like this I am begging you to volunteer to help homeless people for a few shifts or something, I won't say 'befriend a wider circle of people' because I wouldn't want you to inflict yourself on them outside of a soup dispensing context.
