#POETRYPAIDME - my current (and personal) artist fees/rates sheet for gigs as a PERFORMANCE POET and author, considering my audience size and typical reach.
Live Performances/Reading Fees

Less than 15 min - $200 - $250+ (often $150 tho)
15 min+ - $300 - $500+

BASED ON: The Writers' Union + League of Canadian Poets. There is NO such thing as a "Canada Council" Rate for poets (this was a MINIMUM suggested fee of $125/reading).
Recorded Video Performances/Reading Fees

Less than 5 min - $300 - $500+
Less than 15 min - $500 - $750+
ADD: video captioning fees, video editing and processing, transportation to shoot locations, and any cameraperson or videographer, cross-promotions - +$150 - $750
Recorded Audio, Voice-over, or Audio-Only Performances/Reading Fees

Less than 5 min - $200 - $500+
Less than 15 min - $500 - $750+
ADD: software and hardware rental, studio rental fees/sound booth rentals, rehearsals or dry reads, and audio editing - $100 - $500
Written Poetry Commission Fees

Written ONLY - Less than 5 min/1-2 pages - $500 - $1000+
+for VIDEO or LIVE PERFORMANCE, ADD: Performance or Recording fees from above
Workshops, School Visits, Panels

Workshops - 1 hour - $150 - $200
Workshops - 2 hours - $200 - $350
Workshops - half-day - $500+
School Visits <2 hours - $250 - $500
School Visits >3 hours - $500+
Panel Discussion - $150 - $350+
Written Articles and Original Content

Less than 500 words - $300+
More than 500 words - $300 - $500+
ADD: research costs/access to archives, interviews with folks, background reading costs - $?

NO IDEA FOLKS. I just haven't been paid less than $300.
OTHER:

Curating Fee - $100 - $500+ (scale to event + hours of labour required to plan)
Hosting/Facilitating/Moderating - $100 - $300
Mentoring or Consulting - $50/hr
Manuscript Edits or Poetry Edits - $50/hr
Social Media Use and Promotion - $100 - $250+
What about when I work for free or am asked to work for free?
And one final note - these are my rates now. I sure as hell hope I'll continue to grow.
