All you first time authors or other #twitterstorians interested in learning about #academicpublishing - contact me! There are no dumb questions, there’s nothing we haven’t heard/seen, and most importantly there’s one thing you should know:
Your publisher needs to earn your trust. They need to guide you and can’t expect you to just know things. They need to talk with you about every little detail. Image rights and indexing as much as cover ideas and title suggestions.
You should never feel like you have to deal with things on your own. And you should never feel like you can’t ask. Being there and answering questions is part of our job. And we want you to have the best possible experience, especially with your first book!
