The 'No-Discount' Strategy To Get More Sales *Without* Throwing Away Revenue

A Thread 👇
Want a quick and easy way to drive more sales?

Offer a discount.

It’s probably the easiest way to get someone to go from prospect to customer.

Here's a quick example:
I was recently looking at an in-depth freelancer guide so I could learn how to get more clients for my email copywriting business.

It had been on my radar for a while, but I never got around to buying it.

That is… until I got an email about it with a 20% off coupon code...
...and less than 3 minutes later, I was reading the copy I bought!

(Funny side note: I ended up buying full price with an upsell and spent more money than the original price anyways)

Discounts work.

There’s no doubt about it.

That said...
I think there’s a better way to do things.

What if I told you there’s a way to increase sales without losing revenue or cheapening your brand?

Here’s how to do it:

Raise your prices instead of lowering them.

"Uh... what?"

Here's what I mean:
You don’t want to just raise your prices out of nowhere, because you can turn this into a mini-event and get a lot of people to buy now instead of later.

So let’s say you plan on raising your prices in a week...
In your emails, you let your subscribers know your prices are going up and to buy now to get it at the current price.

And the day before your price change, send some kind of “last chance” email to get people to take action.
There’s one rule with this 'no-discount' strategy though:

Stick to your new pricing.

It wouldn’t make sense to raise your prices just to offer a discount or drop them back down later.
If you go up a reasonable amount, a lot of people will buy before the increase and you’ll still make sales at the new price.

This strategy isn’t ideal for every business model, but subscriptions, info products, ecom stores, and services use this all the time with great results.
Have you used this method before?

Are you a serial discounter in need of a new strategy?

Let me know what you think!
