I’m sorry but I just can’t with the bipartisan effort of using Black LEOs to advance state propaganda regarding racism & policing. If GOP genuinely cared about Goodman’s life, they’d convict Trump. If establishment cared about racism in policing, they wouldn’t attack defund mvmt
From beginning to end, the bipartisan establishment has been most united on one thing since 1/6 & that’s using the Capitol attack to engage in state propaganda around police instead of confronting the link between policing & domestic terrorism.
They have placed enormous emphasis on the murder of a police officer as representing an unparalleled moral offense & have used a Black LEO as the face of Capitol Hill police defending the sacred state building while increasingly ignoring the role of police in plotting the attack.
It matters b/c the 1/6 attack was confirmation of what activists have been saying for years about the links between US police forces & white supremacist groups. The 1/6 insurrection came shortly after prolonged attacks from Dem leaders on Black activism & calls to defund police.
The establishment has responded by using 1/6 events to double up on the police propaganda by pretending Black LEOs are the face of a police force that defended the Capitol even as many of these officers past & present say the force is plagued with racism.
No one denies Goodman saved lives that day. But that makes it all the more egregious that the very lives he saved show no interest in defending or protecting his life by holding those who threatened him to account.
At the end of the day, it’s all done in service to upholding a racist, imperialist police state.
