i think ultimately the problem here is that money is so ridiculously asymmetric that massively parallelized software can be sold to small entities for relative pennies, but hobby software can't be sold for the cost of creation
maybe i should befriend more indie artists
anyway i obviously won't ever make a living off bitvec or even my slowly growing rust f/loss collection, nor do i want to. but i think it's important to acknowledge that my hobby project is a non-trivial value add and represents a (currently) unique engineering effort
