Thread on everyone who deserves credit for UConn’s win @ Xavier. First, credit to the guys who did not play a minute but brought the energy from the bench the whole game. I’m looking at our upperclassmen Carlton & Adams, plus our star Bouknight. That made a difference.
Credit to Martin for getting buckets, being a man on the boards, and knocking down 2 free throws late after missing a couple. He had the strong &-1 to give a spark when they needed it in 2nd half. He is the player that most embodies what it means to be a UConn player.
Credit to RJ Cole who played his game and provided leadership on the offensive end. His past 2 games have been his best 2. He earned his starting spot back & he & Bouk will make a killer backcourt.
Credit to Akok Akok for giving that offensive spark in the first half and giving some energy back to the UConn fanbase for getting buckets and sharing that smile!
Credit to Andre Jackson who made Paul Scruggs a non-factor for most of the game. He has Bouknight-esque potential and just needs more game experience. #UConn
Credit to Whaley who nailed big 3s and had 12 pts, 10 rebounds, 5 blocks and 4 assists!!! He really is the heart of UConn. Let’s gooo @IsaiahWhaley
Credit to Adams Sanogo for getting 8 rebounds in limited minutes. Huge piece for getting UConn back to competing for national championships!
Credit to Tyler Polley who knocked down big 3s and all his free throws and got credit for 2 offensive rebounds (although it should have been 3!!)... let’s goo @Tyler_polleyyy
Credit to Jalen Gaffney who didn’t shoot well but he is always as excited as anybody on the bench when his teammates play well. He is a team player and he will continue to grow.
Lastly credit to Hurley, firstmost for the culture he has established, for getting talented players who are not selfish, for allowing Andre Jackson to play thru mistakes, for playing more uptempo on offense & for not getting a T while bringing his energy for UConn
